I spent 33 years as a shooter and collector without an ak. So at my local gun store there's a good chinese norinco ak in.223 (from my understanding it's one of the rarer ak's out there) and it's only like $740. Norinco rifles has the same designation as the military weapons, except added the suffix 's' for sporter.

Norinco type 56 (ak47) history. It had the stupid slide fire stock on it so that might be why the price is so low. Norinco made guns seem to be a cut above.

Not even close,,,, valmet (finns) galil (israel) and the south africans make a r4 , all these are much better made even more so than the russian ak 47, let alone anything china makes,, and are more similar , note the mak 90 is a akm ,,. They came in multiple calibers.
Only Have About 2,500 Rounds Through It But It Shows No Signs Of Stress And Seems To Be Holding Up Well.
Not bad for something that's meant to be over $1000. The mak 90 is the most common norinco ak. The steel was actually pretty good to work with in the accurizing process.
